boodie: shark with human teeth (Default)
[personal profile] boodie
Many moons ago I used to tape songs off the radio, I ended up with something like 80+ C-90 tapes full of music, I listened to these tapes endlessly over the course of four or five years until I got a CD player. Because I taped them from the radio there are no pauses bewteen the songs, so the songs sort of meld into each other, one combo of songs seems to have stuck in my memory.

Peggy Sue followed by Twist and Shout followed by No Milk Today, this means that whenever I hear Peggy Sue, some part of me in pavlovian fashion always expects it to segue into Twist and Shout into No Milk Today.

I have all of these songs on my iTouch along with 5,740 more, so last night I was listening to music on shuffle and Peggy Sue came on, a teeny bit of my lizard brain expected to hear Twist and Shout next, and BINGO, Twist and Shout came up next, I laid in bed in boggled anticipation, waiting and yes... No Milk Today came on after Twist and Shout.

I have NO idea what the actual odds are of this happening, of three specific songs being played in a specific order from so many and I am hoping some bright spark knows how to work this out for me, for I yam intrigued.

Any resident math geniuses around?
