Some people come into your life for a short time and then they leave again, but they leave a big impression, one such person was the marvellous and wonderful Jennifer Shepherd, I met Jen when she became my room mate at the RHH, we were room mates for over six months, in that time she became one of my dearest friends.

We bonded over our shared love of Survivor, the X-factor and watching and voting in unison on The Voice, we commiserated about the days when our Physio sessions didn't go as we wanted, when our Doctors came around with more unpleasant news, and then on the days when things did go well, we congratulated each other.

We kept each others spirits up during those long and what seemed at times, never-ending months and months in hospital, Jen kept me from going crazy, we laughed at the same things, I met her wonderful family and they all welcomed me with open arms, her funny and brilliant brothers, her loving Grandkids, and the apple and the love of her life, her adorable Grandson.

Her friends who treated me like I was their friend as well, all of them combined to make my being in hospital, while an unpleasant experience in itself, as pleasant as possible.

Jen passed away last night and my heart is breaking, I loved Jen so much and I know she loved me, I am overcome with grief for her lovely family and for myself.

To all of you, I am thinking of you and sending all my love.

Denise, Paul, Chandra and my Dad and my Sister who all met and came to love Jen as well.

Rest well my darling Jen.

I will miss you more than I can possibly say.

This story broke my heart when I heard what had happened 10 month old killed in pram by drunk driver and now the parents, in the midst of their grief and pain have donated baby Graces' organs so that other children may live happy and healthy lives. Yesterday in our paper, and I suspect in most sunday papers in australia, there was a form from the Organ Donation registery, I filled mine in and will send it off, I urge anyone who wants to donate their organs to fill in this form and register, sometimes it may feel that we aren't doing a lot in our life, but we can sure make our death count for an entirely unselfish reason.

there are some records you don't ever want broken, and the worlds worst massacre by a lone gunman is one of them, sadly it looks like it might happen, my thoughts are with everyone affected..

I honestly dont think we in Australia, realised just how popular Steve was in the rest of the world.. some of these are really sad..

had a phone call from my sister tonight, my Aunty Dawn, Mums oldest sister has been admitted to hospital, it's her heart, and the prognosis isn't that good..

I always knew this time would come, eventually, that my Aunts would pass away, one by one.. but its still hard to come to grips with.
