For Pterry!!
Mar. 17th, 2008 11:47 amTerry Pratchett, author of the bestselling Discworld novels, has been diagnosed with a rare form of Alzheimer's. He has donated half a million pounds (approx $1 million) to Alzheimer's research and appeared in the media highlighting the low levels of research funding Alzheimer's receives. Millions of loyal readers from around the world have responded and are helping to match Terry's donation.
This was the brilliant brainchild of Pat Cadogan, well known and respected editor/author, I saw the interview with Pterry on SBS, seeing this amazing man stumbling over his words and losing his train of thought was absolutely shocking, this is the most awful of ironies.
