This reminds me of attempting to drill down to the "real meaning" of things. For instance take the sentence "I see a cat".

What is a cat ?

According to the dictionary a cat is "A small carnivorous mammal (Felis catus or F. domesticus) domesticated since early times as a catcher of rats and mice and as a pet and existing in several distinctive breeds and varieties."

So the sentence becomes "I see a small carnivorous mammal (Felis catus or F. domesticus) domesticated since early times as a catcher of rats and mice and as a pet and existing in several distinctive breeds and varieties."

Now what does "carnivorous" mean ?

ah...

"Characterized by destructive or predatory behavior or instincts"

so my original sentence (to make it clearer) becomes.

"I see a small mammal characterized by destructive or predatory behavior or instincts (Felis catus or F. domesticus) domesticated since early times as a catcher of rats and mice and as a pet and existing in several distinctive breeds and varieties."

...and so one can continue until one has either used up one's patience or the dictionary is beyond repair. This is how politicians compose their speeches (secret).
