Don't panic if it's an early evening mozzie bite. Those are young females who have just hatched and probably haven't bitten any one else yet. The problems come later when a mossie bites you after they have bitten someone.
THe good news is RR isn't as widspread as Malaria, and I bet the people with it have returned from the north island.
Actually we have our very own RR carrying mossies, theres been 80 cases in the first 3 months of the year, last year we had only 7, they say that it's due to the warm moist weather, it's increased the mozzie population by squillions.
thankfully it appears to be in the Sorell/Clarence areas.
I understand how you feel! Here in Florida, in the U.S. of A., we have West Nile virus, which is very nasty, carried by mosquitoes. And boy do we have mosquitoes!
