Well, thats finally all settled, some months ago Dhanica announced that she didn't want to stay at Lambert next year, and that she refused to go to Cosgrove (not that I blame her, its not got the best rep, however it is the local feeder High school) so that meant I had to chase around all the other High Schools in the area and out of it, to find one that would take her.
Her first choice was totally full up and had a waiting list, same with the next choice, which was an all girls school, her third choice was Claremont High, who originally said they would take her, and then um'ed and ah'ed for a couple of months, which meant of course I had to scramble around looking for more schools, by now I was really reaching, a HS on the other side of the river, one four suburbs away, thankfully Claremont High have now got their act together and she has been offered a place.
And now of course Dhanica isn't happy about it, she wanted to go to the school who had the waiting list, even though they told me that we didn't fit into their out of area definitions and that even if they had a place they probably wouldn't have offered her a place anyway, then she said she wanted to go to the one over the river, they just rang this morning and said that they also had waiting list and were not offering out of area placements anyway.
So she pouted about that, and I told her that she was the one who wanted to leave Lambert in the first place, and she just gave me that blank look, the same one she uses when I ask her to do something for me, like last week, I asked her to hang some clothes up, and she said 'why should I do something for you, when you dont do anything for me'. Of course I never do anything, I havent been chasing schools down for the last 4 months, I didn't just buy her a new mobile phone, I never pay for bus fares when she wants to go somewhere, I never buy her new clothes, and the list goes on.
But anyway, its all sorted, so now I have to fix up her bus pass, start putting the money aside for her school uniforms and the school levies.
