sung in very high voices...
Dec. 17th, 2007 11:48 amYou know how sometimes when someone says something that surprises or shocks you, your response is often in a VERY high pitch, a pitch that you would normally never be able to manage?
This morning I was having a small dialogue with Centrelink on the phone, trying to work out WTF was going on with my austudy payment, when the lovely lady said, 'Oh yes, it's all been sorted, your payment of $65 for the fortnight was deposited into your account this morning'
My immediate reaction was
'WHAT???'
In tones a castrati would have been pleased to reach.
And she repeated what she said, and I repeated myself again, in EVEN higher tones, that probably hurt her ears..
By then she twigged that something may possibly have NOT been right, and she said;
'Umm, let me check that'
I hear tappity tappity and she comes back.
"Oh my mistake, that $65 was a top up payment for last fortnights payment, your normal payment is due on the 21st"
0./
*blink*
And on a brighter note, I finally did christmas cards today -)
next comes actual presents.
