My new power supply arrived this morning, I ordered it yesterday afternoon at around 2pm and it arrived at 9am!
It appears to be working, though unfortunately the problem actually appears to be in the laptop connector to the power supply, however this one fits in more snugly and makes contact at least 60% of the time
So I have no hesitation in recomending MobilePower for fast and efficient service.
....and I have been trying out a few new techinques in Poser and Photoshop, so enjoy..

Date: 2004-03-05 01:52 am (UTC)anyways, the thing with laptops is ... they're not meant to be used on your lap. no, really. they're meant to be used on a stable, solid surface. So if you're using it on your lap, try using a stabletable laptable sort of thing under it. that will take a lot of the strain off the powerconnector, because using them on your lap tends to lead to one of two problems - either the connector for the powersupply becomes dicky (and it's usually inside the laptop that it does so), or the connecting cables to the LCD monitor get damaged.
At work I deal with these problems all the time, and this is the advice given to me by the guys who do our laptop repairs.
oh, and he said "if you want my advice, don't call them laptops. call them notebooks. that way you can *tell* people not to use them on their laps"
hth.
