All i've had today is my american friends apologising for their fellow countrymen voting Bush back in again.

It's ok, as long as you voted and voted the way your conscience dictated that you must, then you did your part, thats what democracy is all about.

I could rant on till the stars burnt out about the tragedy that was that election. My question is simple though, at what point did that place, built on freedom and independance to do as they wished, turn into a Theocratic oligarchy the pope would admire? What next, start burning a few witches perhaps, because, Oh they worship satan, or whatever.

Its the 21st century, not the 12th...though the way your laws are going maybe it is the 12th and Ive just been too busy to notice.

I wish I had an answer for you, but I don't. Well, I do, but it's rather complicated. Suffice it to say that the appeal to fear that the Republican campaign was largely based on worked. I'm afraid too many of my countrymen (and women) have become too comfortable and have forgotten that Earth is not a safe place to live.
