timely, as ever...

Just had a phone call from the Property Manager, seems like they finally got around to realising that my one year lease ran out last year, in fact in July last year, they wanted to know if i wanted to sign another one, I said 'yes please, can we make it a two year lease?' They're going to talk to the owners and send me out a lease to sign.

I guess this means there will be a rental inspection AND probably a rental increase as well, but I can't afford to move and rental prices are about the same all over, and finding a place that lets you have pets is downright impossible.

We had the strangest thing happen. We were accepted for the first place we applied for. Admittedly they were asking a lot for an _ok_ house, (no carport, toilet via outside...), but it had a large yard. Since we'd looked at other places since that were more suited to us (nicer condition, less yard, we're a small family), we decided not to accept it... after much agonizing! Fortunately, we still have approximately 3 months, so we can hold out for a few weeks before going for anything that's not bad.
