I can tell it's christmas, the equivalent of half a plantations worth of trees in the form of catalogues arrived in the letterbox today, makes me wish I had money so that I could take advantage of them, so many pretty things...

Seriously pondering switching over to naked DSL, but then realised that if I had to rely on my current mobile phone as my sole phone I would go mad, so plan is, wait til end of contract for phone, get new BETTER phone on better plan and THEN ditch the landline.

step 4: PROFIT

Well it will actually save me quite a lot of money by getting naked dsl, it's not as if anyone uses the home phone anymore for anything, going by the last phone bill we made four calls on the landline.

Depending on who you go with (and if/when Netspace get their asses into gear now that iiNet own them) many Naked plans include a VOIP phone that people can call in on - and you call out on. Netspace has a VOIP service but it's outgoing only... it's cheaper to call the US then Australian numbers, but still cheaper then what Telstra is charging for STD calls.

If you phone up and threaten to leave them you might get a better deal on your mobile.

Yeah I was looking at the one netspace have on offer, i seemed to see something about voip, but that will have to wait until my mobile contract runs out, feb I think, and then I can get a decent (ie useable) mobile.

I only pay $20 a month for my mobile, the plan is fine, but the phone SUCKS big time, it makes me want to throw it across the room every time I use it 8-)
