boodieI have been a North Melbourne fan for as long as I can remember, and this has upset me deeply, however there needs to be some perspective put on this, Wayne Carey did NOT kill someone, he did not rape a small child, he did however do something that I'm almost positive he regrets with every fibre of his being, but that is a matter between Wayne, his Wife, Anthony Stevens and his Wife, it is not and nor should it be the subject of intense media speculation.
It is after all ONLY a game, and even though it is presumed that star players should conduct themselves with extra probity, they are still only human and people make mistakes.
Wayne Carey is an awesome football player, but he's also a human being and he and his family deserve to be left alone so that they can try and work this out and perhaps salvage something from the sad and sorry mess it is at the moment.
Hang in there Wayne, no matter what anyone else says, you'll always be a champion, an all too human one, but a champion nontheless.
