I think, *hope* that my phone problems are over, the nice man from telstra came and had a listen to my phone, which had the decency to make a lot of nasty crackling noise, in his ear, whic resulted in him climbing up his ladder to my external connection, and then up the street to the main connecter and then further up the street to the main box and then back down the street to the hole in the ground, and the finally, back up the ladder.

I no longer have crackling and it turns out that when they shut down my second phone line about 2 years ago, they didn't tie something down properly and it was rubbing, thats the non tecnical explanation. 8-)

Yay, this should mean you will no longer get disconnected at random times four and five times within a few hours. This is wonderful news.

As you said.. and I quote "Woot!"

We're attempting to make our listening devices less prone to noise. A defective unit was replaced. Our apologies for the inconvenience.
