I christened my dvd drive in my laptop today by watching one of my all time favourite movies Independence Day I LOVE ID4 it's a great movie, unlike some others, I can suspend my disbelief and ignore the scientific and logical implausabilities in the move and just see it how it was meant to be seen, as a rollicking fun ACTION movie, with no great pretensions to being anything else. It has one of the great rousing speeches of all time in it, President Whitmores speech to the assembled pilots and people, and as an added bonus it also has Jeff Goldblum wearing a singlet... my oh my..
