the magic smoke escaped!

boodieLast night, or this morning if you want to get technical, around 3am I was watching tv, just idly flicking through the channels, when nature called, when i got back to my bedroom, i could smell something, it smelt like something was burning. My first thought was the mess of cords down by my bed, the laptop, the lamp, the electric blanket, the mobile phone recharger, the ipaq base, the cordless phone, so I sniffed and unplugged and couldn't see or smell anything from that area, when i raised my head my bedroom was decidely smokey and smelt terrible.
Now as some of you may know, my eyes are not the best, and at 3am they're not really that crash hot at seeing things, like where the smoke was actually coming from, so I'm doing the smell test, trying to track down the source and I just happened to glance across and see smoke and a tiny puff of FLAME coming out the top of the air vents on the TV, so that gets unplugged quick smart, I'm not strong enough to lift it by myself, to take it out of my room, so I watched it like a hawk for an hour or so, just to make sure..
So now i gotta buy a new tv, cos once the magic smoke escapes, thats it.

I had my tv looked at, and it still works, nothing from the tv itself burnt, so we decided it was a heap of dust and cat fur spontaneously combusting.. cos all the capacitors were still working
