*sigh*

Bloody hell, on the weekend Chandra (my eldest hatchie) had a party, about 12-14 kids turned up, and as parties go it was very tame, they stayed outside, listened to music, drank enough Coke to sink several battleships, went for a walk, came back, drank some more coke, came inside, watched DVDs played on the PS2, sat around and talked, and them some went to sleep, two people threw up, but one of them wasn't well when he turned up, at most there was a couple of cans of beer shared between a couple of the older boys, it was all very tame and low key.

I just got a phone call from the principal of the hatchies school, apparantly there is a rumour racing around the school that the party was a non stop alcoholic rave from go to woe, that everyone was drunk, and everyone threw up, I had to reassure her that no one was drunk, one boy threw up because he was sick, not drunk, no one had alcohol fuelled orgies in the backyard, and the reason I know this is because *I* was up all night keeping an eye on em, and they were in MY loungeroom watching manga dvds from around 11pm onwards, when it got cold, and there were no drunk teenagers of any description in my house.

I suspect the rumours got started in an effort to make the party seem more 'cool' or whatever it is teenagers say now, when in truth as far as parties go, I've seen more livelier ones at a cemetary. But now I imagine I'll be getting phone calls from livid parents wanting to know what the hell was going on on friday night.

Hey, cemetaries can be pretty rowdy places. Especially if the local goth contingent is high.
