Notice from the local council.

Due to repairs to the water and sewerage system, people living in my street, for the next month will be subjected to intermittent water outages, during the hours of 9am to 4pm daily, the water supply may be turned off for periods of time, ranging from a few minutes to several hours, I am to make arrangements to store enough water to cover my needs should this occur.

After work has finished for the day I am to run an outside tap for 10 minutes to clear the debris from the water pipes, before using for human consumption.

it's their own fault, the pipe keeps on bursting, has done for 6 or so years, and all they do is patch it, this time it's beyond patching, and is now an emergency job.

Too tight to spring for proper maintence at the right time, means we all have to suffer.

intermittent is worse, means you never know if its on or off until you try to flush the loo.
