not happy Jan.
May. 15th, 2007 02:12 pm10am appt with the real estate guys.
8.45am I am showered, washed and dressed, getting ready to finish doing all the last little cleaning up jobs, pick up stuff, dust, vacuum, etc etc, I walk into the lounge just on 9am, open the blinds so I can see to dust better and who do I see walking down the path.. The real estate guys.
Not happy, place is still just a bit messy, but what can you do, I let them in, they briefly wander around the house, take photos, comment on the botched bathroom reno, reminisce (these were the same guys who tried to sell the place seven years ago) comment on the fact that it appears that no maintenance had been done in the intervening years, I pointed out that the bathroom is the only thing that had been done in the almost fourteen years I've been here and that was half arsed. Then they left. They were here for ooh maybe seven minutes tops.
Not Happy redux
Put an ad in the paper to sell my old sofa, huge three seater thing, solidly built and in very good nick, didn't get any takers, didn't really think I would, so decided that I'd give it away to one of the charities, after all they're always telling us they need good quality stuff they can sell, so I ring em up, ALL of them, Lifeline, Salvos, St Vinnies. St Vinnies was the only one who was semi positive, said they'd come round today and get it, two guys turn up, look at the sofa and then say 'Nah, we don't want it, won't be able to store it, too big, sorry' and leave.
The next time I hear a charity whining because nobody is giving them stuff to sell I will laugh sarcastically and derisively.
Soooo, if theres anyone in the greater Hobart area that wants/needs a decent, in good nick blue fabric covered sofa, please feel free to drop me an email, or leave a comment, it's for free, all you gotta do is pick it up.

Date: 2007-05-18 05:18 am (UTC)Scared Weird Little Guys
Redback, Funnel-Web, Blue-ringed octopus
Taipan, Tigersnake and a Box jellyfish
Stonefish and the poison thing that lives in a shell
That spikes you when you pick it up
Come to Australia
You might accidentally get killed
Your life's constantly under threat
Have you been bitten yet?
You've only got three minutes left
Before a massive coronary breakdown
Redback, Funnel-Web, Blue-ringed octopus
Tiapan, Tigersnake and a Box jellyfish
Big shark just waiting for you to go swimming
At Bondi Beach
Come to Australia
You might accidentally get killed
Your blood is bound to be spilled
With fear your pants will be filled
Because you might accidentally get killed
