Well that was possibly one of the worst mornings I've had in a long while, you may recall that last week I had an appointment with the financial advisor from the credit counselling service, one of the first things I had to do was get in touch again with all the people I owed money to, to see if there was anything else that could be done in the way of reduced payments and stuff.
Two of the three were fairly reasonable, and have met me as far as they can within the rules of their own organisations, and for that I am greatful. The third, however was vastly disinclined to even budge a small bit and the only option that they offered me was to cancel my card, which they did on the spot and give me two months of reduced payments.
I'm not sure that will be enough to make even a little bit of difference, but I couldn't seem to make them understand that if this failed that my next option is to declare bankruptcy, which means they'd get little or no money back at all, I have nothing of value left that could be used to raise collateral, so it was in their best interest to work with as much as possible.
I do not want to wriggle out of paying them back the money I owe them, thats not the sort of person I am, I just wanted some extra time and a little bit of understanding.
But I guess Which Bank doesn't subscribe to that, I've been banking with them for the past 35 years, customer loyalty means nothing anymore.
The lady from the counselling service was a little annoyed that they couldn't come up wiith more options other than cancelling my card, but now I have two months in which I can try and turn things around, god knows how, but I guess it's something, or else I start the new year filing for bankruptcy.
