True but on the bright side at least 2001 and 2010 didn't become literally true.

That would have sucked. And put Arthur C. Clarke's genius under heavy suspicion.

I often wondered myself just where he got so many of his ideas from, ideas that later turned out to be very valid scientific discoveries 8-)
