boodieWell well well, now that was a turn up for the books, just had a phone call from the girl who used to to be my bestest of best friends, when I was in Primary School, the four of us, Me, Amanda C, Amanda F and Neville, always used to hang around together during and after school.
Turns out she was going through a box of old stuff and found some letters I'd written her, she left my Primary school in the middle of grade 6 after her parents divorced, and ended up going to a different High School than the rest of us, so we became penpals for a few years or so.
She started reading them and decided that she just HAD to get back in touch with me, since back then I had a most unusual surname, the only one in the phone book, she took a punt and rang the first one with the same name in the current phone book, and since there is only my father and my Sister in the phone book under that name, she got my father, and he passed on my number.
We had a great chat, did a mini catching up, and she's coming for a coffee on wednesday, I told her to bring the letters so I could have a laugh at them, and I promised that I would dig out the photo album that contains the pictures from our school trip to Maria Island in Grade 5.
I have very little in the way of stuff from when I went to Primary School, I think the photos are it, apart from a few books that Mr Gray gave me, and of course school photos, but no group photos.
Seems just like yesterday the last time I saw her, we had a seance at her house when I was in Grade 7, and we managed to scare the bejeebers out of each other, with our over active imaginations.
Now I do feel old 8-)
