That's excessive... my dad was getting worried about the viruses but we have him sorted with Eudora, which is pretty virus proof, plus up to date Norton and he *knows* not to open attachments, and we explained its the idiots who are at risk. Seems we were right :(
>.< *GROAN* I lost count of the number of emails I got with that stupid virus attached to it...and they all came from the yahoogroups email we used for the Ops in #loth. Mirar might be disabling the feature fo awhile.
I never opened a single one. I never open attachments from that email addy anyway. There's no reason for an attachment to even be there. I just dumped them all in the recycle bin, then deleted them again from there. My virus scan runs automaticlly at 1am daily, and so far, I've been clean. *WHEW*
From what I read about this virus, it can come from a recognized name on the email...you open it, thinking that it's safe, then it starts sending out emails to everyone on the list on it's own.
Of the 30 or so virus spam messages I got, half or so of them were from relatives and my parents. Ive been commissioned with the special task of cleaning up the mess. -.-
We shall see on Sunday what comes of this nonsense, in the meantime I can reccomend following good dragon advise, since she summed it up best ^.^
... you mean you look at your e-mail? crap I just universally delete everything no adays ... ... heh, so if you e-mail me .. warn me first, but not by e-mail ...

Curious...
Date: 2003-08-24 02:45 am (UTC)Which means one of three things:
A) I have intelligent, computer savvy friends.
B) I have friends who head my warnings. Or
C) I have no friends.
Cross your fingers that it's either A or B. I am.
