laptop update


the battery appears to be working again... yay

the Cdrom now works, yay

the keyboard is slowly becoming unsticky... yay 8-)

How is it that everyone BUT ME has a laptop they can damage? All I have is a mutilated desktop, and God knows those are hard on the legs. Can't very well plug them into anything when you're in a car, either. Unless you find some way to turn the cigarette lighter into a power outlet. That can do 120V. For six hours. Straight. Didn't think so.

That and, of course, there's no room for the peripherals. Printer, speeakers, hexadecimal hacking keyboard, stuff like that. I myself might have a bit of luck, 'cause I can just store them all in my hair. (Inside joke for anyone who's seen me on webcam. If you don't get it, ask me later.)

Just 'cos someone *says* they have a laptop doesn't actually mean they've got some shiny new fan-dangled piece of technological superiority, yanno... :)

I realize that not all laptops people speak of are really new. But they are extant. Which is more than I can say for myself.
