please sir, cannive some more
Jun. 5th, 2004 01:51 pmLast week in the mail, I recieved a rather thick envelope from the place where I did my diploma in counselling, they are offering to all past and present students the chance to update their knowledge and skills, by doing a refresher/skills course in the new revamped and more pertinent counselling course.
When this arrived I wasn't sure if I could be bothered, not because of the cost, it's another $700, which thanks to my darling most wonderful, deeply missed and muchly loved Nanny, who probably loved me much more than I ever deserved, I can afford it.
Its not the cost, it was the motivation, if you read my LJ at all, you would have seen that a while ago I wasn't even sure that I wanted to continue being a Counsellor, my heart just wasn't in it and I really felt like I wasn't helping anyone, let alone myself.
But after reading through the new course outline, and seeing the new study material and the way the stuff is set out, I had a sudden rebirth of enthusiasm, now this in part is also due to something/someone else, but I'm not saying anymore, suffice to say, things are nowhere near as bleak, boring and unfulfilling as they once seemed only a month ago.
So it looks like I'm a student again..
at my age!

Best age to be a student! (grin) From one old student to another, good luck. I know what you mean about 'rekindling.' Every time I go to a genealogy conference, I get renewed enthusiasm for my studies.
I need a boost now, in fact.
Enjoy!
