Dunno how scary you consider scary, Hon. From Hell is about Jack the Ripper. Johnny Depp plays the Inspector on the case who A) has visions, and B) has a bit of an opium problem. It's all filmed from his perspective.
It's not -real- graphic (ie, no guts being spilled in technicolour...you see blood-splatters, but that's it), and beautifully filmed.
All I can remember is that watching Pirates caused me to fall off my chair laughing. He's that good. Even though it took me half the movie to realize that Depp was playing Sparrow and not that guy who reminds me of DiCaprio. Please, I beg of you, don't ask.
