got a letter from the PM today, my rents going up on the 1st january to $150 a week.. yep $150 for this heap... So i said I didnt mind paying the extra as long as i got the repairs done that I asked for... and guess what.. total and utter silence...

Refuse to pay ANY rent if they dont make the repairs, and check your leasing agreement and rights as a tenant under the housing commission act ( I know SA has one, so TAS should have something similar)

This is where you start talking to the Rent Tribunal. Give the PM a few more contacts, then go to the tribunal.

about the only thing i can do is go to the magistrates and ask them to order the landlord to repair the place, and since i dont have a lease, or even a verbal agreement about how long my tenancy was supposed to be, he can give me 28day notice and i'm out of a home.

I dont have a lease, so basically i'm screwed, the only thing they have to ensure is working heat, means of cooking, running water, and toilet, it doesnt specify what condition.

Well, crap! Landlords are just bloody amazing - quite happy to let you pay their mortgage off for them, but expect you to be happy about living in a heap that they certainly wouldn't want to live in.

I have paid for this house, my rent HAS paid his mortgage off, but if he keeps on going, this house wont be worth what he paid for it.
