boodie: shark with human teeth (what?)
[personal profile] boodie
Children at a british child care centre have been taught to sing Baa Baa Rainbow sheep, to avoid offendinng anyone ( ref here..) and news.com.au asked its intrepid reader to come up with politcially correct nursery rhymes..

From a reader named Louise came this little gem that had me cackling my socks off!!

Sing a song of sixpence, the RSPCA
Freed a flock of birdies before they got flambeed
Prosecute the despot who likes his snacks to tweet
And force him to restrict his fare to humane organic meat
The king was in his counting-house, reviewing the GST
The queen was in the parlour, undermining democracy
The maid was in the garden, protesting IRC reforms
When along came the Sedition Act and asked her to conform

Well like one person commented. Are we supposed to cahnge it all to "Rainbow sheep of the family."
What do you do if they are gay?

Also, agree with another comment later one... Isn't it More offensive to have these people stumbling all over each other trying to find a way to describe what you are (which is viewed as abnormal) in a way to make it sound normal but still act like it isn't by making such a big deal?

No so far future....

"Happy Birthday!"

[Random Stranger]: "How dare you opress your beliefs onto me?
I don't celebrate that persons birthday so you shouldn't be alowed to ram it down my throat."

I've been giggling over the page, but then started thinking that to accomodate and accept a diverse range of people and lifestyle choices, we really oughtn't have to apologise for being ourselves.

It's all quite silly, really.
