I joined YouTube specifically so I could friend ONE person on there RStrathfield who seems to have uploaded film clips of just about ALL my fave songs from the golden years of Countdown..

as for how it got played, I still wonder about that - I remember slipping it into the playlist for a shift I did at the radio station once, but only once.

The song I still wonder how it got played was Lola, by the Kinks. :-)

And yet, the other day I heard (on Kmart radio, no less) a censored version of Joe Jackson - the line "Don't call me a faggot/not unless you are a friend" was chopped out of it. So, 1976, it's ok to say in public that you "like it both ways", but 30 years later it's not ok to use a line like that. There's something really screwed up there.

and of course, I didnt know what it was about until I was sooo much older.. and thats when I realised 'hey dman, they played THAT on countdown!!' wow

yeah, the lines are blurred and very weird.
