Well the bottom just dropped out of my world, letter from the PM, house inspection next week, along with a Real Estate agent, the Landlords are not coming back from China and they're selling all their houses, i've been told that as soon as this house goes up for sale, it will be VACANT sale, so I should start looking for somewhere else to live ASAP.

I'm stunned, hysterical, shocked and damned scared, i've been here for thirteen years, I cant afford to move, I cant afford to pay more rent, i cant even afford the bond that people now seem to charge.

I'm lost and I dont know what to do.

well i cant say I blame them, it's a good time to sell, the market is up, and if they arent coming back here to live, why have the fuss of houses they have to pay someone to look after.

Don't forget to look at the information available from the rental tribunal/regulator down there - from memory, the lessor is required to give 3 months notice to the lessee when a property is to be sold vacant.

Do some research, and find out what your rights are. Can't hurt to also look at your tenancy documentation for the same.

one problem with that, I dont have a lease, i havent had a lease in something like eight years, and without a lease, i get two weeks notice. They're giving me more than that because i'm a long standing tenant, but they arent required to do anything else.

As someone else said, it sounds like you have a legal challenge against the time constraints they're giving you.
If they're selling all their houses, then you're not going to be alone in this. Contact the other renters and make a storm about it in the papers.
Is there a housing association that could help out?

What sort of price is the house expected to go for? Is there any chance you could get a morgage and buy it yourself?

i have no idea how many other houses they own, or even where they are, and knowing this PM he's doing everything by the book, i can count on that.

five years ago, i would have said $65k if they were lucky, now, maybe $100-$110k, the housing market is totally out of my league.

Agree with him, try to buy the house. You may not think you can afford it, but it wouldn't hurt to check... The down payment may be rough, but the supposedly rent should fairly equal a mortgage payment.

minimum deposit needed is %10 of the value of the house, thats $10,000 plus dollars, i dont have that sort f money, or even access to that money, and on top of that, no one in their right minds would lend me 100k.

The rent world is so fucked up... I'm worried, my Mum will be entering it in a few months. In Sydney, too, which is a notoriously difficult city to rent in.
