*rolls eyes*
Oct. 18th, 2007 03:35 pmI got a letter today, one of those letters in a plain white envelope, the kind that you just know are SERIOUS letters.. Well I opened it in trepidation, and then experienced a massive dose of deja-vu... It was from a company who shall remain nameless, but is well know to readers of my blog, as the company who did some nasty pretty underhanded scare tactics over a supposedly unpaid late fine.
According to their records, guess what I OWE them money... yes yes I owe them the massive sum of $4.09 which MUST be paid henceforth and forthwith or NASTY NASTY things will happen.
I was so fucking tempted to only pay $4.08 and see if they sent out a reminder for the remaining 1 cent.
I suppose I should be greatful that it wasn't twentyfive phone calls.

Date: 2007-10-18 11:33 pm (UTC)It would be worth it to me to spend the postage to send them the $4.09 all in pennies! Heehee! I'm warped like that.
Eh, be worth the silly $4.09 to get them off your back.
Petty morons!
Hug!
We had a similar thing once. We owed on our Gulf Oil (which was taken over by BP) card, and were in dire financial straits at the time. I had worked out an arrangement with Gulf (while they were still Gulf) to pay them $10 a month. The total amount was less than $75.00 all told.
After BP bought Gulf, I got a nasty letter demanding the balance, which was $30 and change, immediately, or they would send a private detective to my door to collect.
I wrote them an equally nasty letter saying I had a prior arrangement with Gulf, which they should honor, and that if they did send a private detective to my door, there would be a uniformed Clay County deputy there to meet him, for my protection, as I regarded their statement as a threat against my person.
I never heard another word from them! Paid them the lousy $30 and change -- at the rate of $10 a month, just as with Gulf.
I guess they figured they couldn't intimidate me and that the amount wasn't worth further bother.
And I have never done and will never do business with BP.
Morons. The world is full of morons.
