Nov. 29th, 2008 01:18 pmOh dear,
Just kill me, kill me now... I was watching Rage this morning around 6am (because it beats watching Dora the Explorer and Benny Hinn) and these songs were on, and god help me, I actually like ALL of these.
Alicia Keys & Jack White: Another Way To Die: One of the better James Bond theme songs in more recent years (yes I'm looking at you Madonna, your song was horrendous)
Kevin Rudolf featuring Lil Wayne: Let It Rock: I have no idea who these people are at all, but this is not a bad song at all, nice beat, I can almost forgive the obligatory pointless rapping crap in it.
Hilary Duff featuring The Prophet: Reach Out: Oooh Hilary, my my how you've grown, your voice sounds almost decent now, but I swear I have heard the beat behind this song before, not that long ago, once again, somewhat spoiled by the obligatory pointless (c)rapping in it.
Gabriella Cilmi: Save The Lies: Wow, so maybe all those people accusing Gabriella of being a one trick (album) pony after she won all those ARIA awards will start eating their words, this one is even better than Sweet About Me.
Miley Cyrus: 7 Things: This is my deep deep shame, oh dear I REALLY like this one, it's poppy and jumpy, aimed squarely at the tween market and does all the right things.
And lastly a special mention for this one: Rihanna featuring Justin Timberlake: Rehab:
Not because I like it, I don't, I honestly cannot stand Rhianna's voice at all, or Timberlake either, he's so vastly overrated. When you put out a song that says Rhianna featuring Justin Timberlake, one does expect the aforesaid mentioned featured artist to actually do say some singing, or usually as is the case some (c)rapping.
I watched this and kept waiting for JT to burst into song, but nada, all he did was perhaps sing/warble two notes in the song. THAT is not featuring at all, I suspect he only did that much so that he would have a reason to appear in the videoclip and have a shower with his clothes on.
