C'mon peeps,

Whilst I appreciate that the election is a bit of a hot topic and peoples tempers get a bit frayed, please not to be attacking each other in the comments to my posting, if you have a particular beef with someone, take it to private messages, or better yet take a deep breath and let it go.

But hey, be nice to each other in MY LJ.

You can be however you want in your LJ but in mine please at least lets keep discussions civilised and polite

If anything I said could be interpreted as being uncivilized or impolite please know that it was not my intent. I have at all times on line tried to restrict myself to discussing the issues and not the people involved.

My criticism at all times was meant to be restricted purely to ideas and not the people who hold those ideas. I know sometimes my ability to express this distinction isn't as fine as I would wish.

I consider all of you with the greatest respect, many of the readers of this LJ and the author of this are dear and deeply beloved friends and if I have a different view on politics or philosophy this doesn't detract from this.

In other words I apologize in total for the unintended pain I may have caused.

Of course, you deleted the post - so I, who was mildly/quite significantly offended by your original post, but held my tongue and didn't comment, have no idea what the drama is that you're talking about. In fact the only frayed temper I observed was yours. :S


In future, leaving it up for evidence might make your point clearer to your readers, and might validate your follow-up "don't be mean" post which without the contents of the original post is very difficult to respect.

I didn't delete it, it's simply private for now, and will stay that way until certain other people apologise to each other for being dicks.

They can be dicks all they want in their own LJs, but not in mine, I'm the only person allowed to be a dick in my LJ 8-)
