My good deed for da day

I's done me good deed for the day, yesterday in email I recieved an email purporting to be from eBay, saying that my account was in danger of being suspended, and I was to click on this link and do what they said..

Well being the net savvy and exceedingly suspicious bitch that I am, I clicked on the link, but had a REALLY good look at the full URL and address, and what do you know, it was redirecting me to someother place entirely..

TA DA one VERY well done, very professional looking SPOOF eBay site that asked you for your log in name and password.

So I passed on the entire email to spoof@ebay.com.au and tonight recieved confirmation that it was a SPOOF site and that they were tracking the owners of the site down and taking appropriate action..

I hope not too many people were caught by it, as it was almost identical to the eBay site.

I got it too, but just deleted it.

I don't know whether that was net savvy, or plain busyness, but in all honesty it was probably because i just couldn't be bothered.

Nice to think my lack of application was worth something. 8)

Unfortunately, I got bitten by this. I reported them as well afterwards, but only gave my account name and password.

Of course, since then, I've changed the password to something completely different.

I'm a lot more careful now, and feel completely silly.

Well it was a very well done scam site, it almost had me fooled until I looked at the full url.

I'm just suspicious, full stop
